Part of our goal here at Life Tender Mercy Home is to break the poverty cycle that many of these children were born into. And in order to instill godly work ethics they need to have responsibilities. Enjoy as you take a peek at what some of the kids do everyday.
Learning to Be Responsible
All of the children, regardless of their ages have chores to do every day. Whether it be helping the nannies to clean the house, washing and peeling vegetables with the cook, or cleaning out stalls, everyone pitches in to get the job done.
One of the daily farm chores is tending to the chickens. The younger boys and the girls feed and water the chickens, and pick and was the fresh eggs to prepare them to sell.
And for doing so, they all earn a little extra spending money to walk down to the local tienda (shop) and purchase their goodies. This also helps them to learn how to manage money.
At the Life Tender Mercy Home we believe it is a good thing to teach these children how to be responsible.
